ABOUT THE PROJECT
Pastry chef and Callebaut ambassador Spyros Pediaditakis was the focus of this session at Chocolate Academy. Commissioned by Callebaut, the project brought together chef portraits, moments of preparation and studio images of his pastry creations.
The series moves between the chef and his work, giving equal attention to his personality, the precision of his hands and the details of each dessert.
Commission & Creative Direction
We created the portraits around the worktop, using reflective surfaces to bring his face, hands and pastries into the same frame and add depth to the images. Direct portraits sit alongside quieter moments of concentration as he assembles and finishes his creations. Blurred geometric patterns in the background draw attention to his expression and precise handwork.
For the pastry images, clean white backgrounds kept attention on shape, colour and texture. Whole creations were photographed alongside cut sections, revealing the layers and fillings beneath their finished surfaces. Selected ingredients provided context without crowding the compositions.
Outcome & Use
The resulting collection presents Spyros Pediaditakis through both his presence and his craft. Portraits, preparation details and finished pastries form a connected series for Callebaut’s ambassador communication, with the chef and his creations at its centre.
