Interior Architecture for OAKA National Sports Complex
Presidential suite OAKA video
ABOUT THE PROJECT >
The Presidential Suite at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens “Spyros Louis” was redesigned as part of the wider modernization of the complex. Located within Greece’s largest sports facility, the suite is used for official functions and high-level guests, bringing together institutional requirements with a contemporary interior approach.
The renovation, led by a+ architects, introduced embossed walnut, carefully selected materials and a restrained palette, creating a space that feels formal without becoming severe.
Filming Approach
The project focused on the balance of proportions, the transition between materials and the way surfaces interact with light. The warmth of walnut wood, the clean detailing and the controlled palette define the character of the suite without overpowering it.
The intention was not to dramatize the interior, but to let the design speak through proportion, material and light. The suite reads as a contemporary institutional space, precise, calm and carefully resolved.
Project Context
The renovated suite was officially presented in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Sports as part of the wider modernization of OAKA. Developed through the collaboration of nine companies, the project reflects how private-sector support can contribute to the renewal of public infrastructure.
Designed for official events and high-level guests, the suite also adds a new revenue-generating function to the complex. The architectural proposal later received recognition in an Italian design competition and was widely covered in the Greek press.
This project is part of our Architectural and Interior projects and was widely covered by press as Site ΟΑΚΑ, Archetype, Οικονομικός Ταχυδρόμος, Πρώτο Θέμα and others.
